The Joy Retreat
Until now you have asked for nothing in my name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.” – John 16:24
Would you like to experience more joy in your life? True joy is about living daily with God and experiencing God in your every breath. During this weekend retreat and workshop, you will learn: to identify your “joy robbers”; how to put God first in your life; how to let go of baggage; how to cultivate intentional silence and to live more mindfully and attentively; and the power of small group sharing. You will examine scriptures, journal, and learn contemplative prayer practices including the breath prayer, Lectio Divina, centering prayer and a body prayer. The retreat is designed to assist you in self-examination and in understanding the hidden agenda of the ego and how it attaches to things other than God. It is our hope that the spiritual practices and skills that you will learn and the sharing of your stories will deepen your awareness of God’s presence in all aspects of your life and bring you more JOY.
Please join us for a Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning program. A two to three hour free time is included on Saturday afternoon. Silence is encouraged during this time.
